Tips for New Students
If you are trying out heated yoga for the first time, you might be wondering what a class going to be like. On this page, we’ll do our best to answer the questions we frequently get asked. Feel free to call or email if you have additional questions.
What should I wear?
Wear light, dry-weave fabrics. Most people wear shorts and a tank top. No shoes. If you can’t find clothes for hot yoga, try clothing designed for runners.
Any advice about eating/drinking?
We recommend you practice on an empty stomach. If you are hungry, fruit is a good option, as it is easy to digest quickly. Make sure you drink plenty of water before and during class.
What do I need to bring?
Bring your mat, a beach towel, and a bottle of water. If you forget something, we do have extras available.
What class should I take?
Please see our class descriptions. Only the Up Tempo Vinyasa is not recommended for beginners.
What if it is too hard?
Part of practicing yoga is learning to listen to your body. Instructors will always provide modifications, but if you have a known issue (bad back, knee pain, etc), seek out your instructor before class for specific guidance. Our goal is to keep you safe.
